This Stanley Bailey No.4½ wide-bodied smoothing plane has seen only light use. In original condition, the plane will require only very light cosmetic restoration to bring it back to pristine condition.
The cutting edge is in good condition with plenty of life left in the iron.
There are two very small tapped screw holes in the left cheek of the plane made by the previous owner (as shown) to provide the option of using a fence. The holes do not go all the way through the cheeks and could be easily filled with metal epoxy, if desired.
